Food & Drinks Menu

Visit Cafe Cheesedale where you can tuck into one of our cheese toasties or cheese boards made with our cheese and other local produce. Please see opening times.

We are delighted to welcome you to our little licenced cafe.

For our opening times please see below.

We have a wonderful covered external seating area for those rainy or chilly days - it is the north after all!

Indoor seating is available and we now have a beautiful new coffee bar in our little shop.  This was made by Jonathan using recycled material from around the farm.  It's a lovely spot to enjoy your coffee sitting on a tractor stool looking across the fields.

All our sausage, bacon and burgers are from our rare breed pigs raised here at Pond Farm and fed with the whey from the cheese making.  You can visit the pigs by following the track up round to the back of the café.

You can see the dairy where the cheese is made through our viewing window – on the right  just before the pigs!

Our menu can change as the seasons change but below is an idea of the kind of cafe we are.  We aim to use our produce, local produce or artisan produce of the highest standard, supporting local wherever possible.

Did you know?

  • Our coffee is roasted at Mickelton village in Teesdale.
  • All our cheeses are suitable for vegetarians.
  • All our cheeses are hand made, hand turned, hand pricked and hand wrapped.
  • Each of our blue cheeses is pricked over 400 times during maturation.
  • We have won over 50 awards: regional, national and international.
  • We can work with you to put together the perfect cheese gift for the cheese lover in your life.
  • We can make you a bespoke celebration cake from cheese.

All the products in our little shop have been hand picked because, in our opinion, they work well with our cheese or they’re just simply gorgeous!

What our customers say

Booked into the weekly Friday evening themed night for tapas, and we were not disappointed! Lovely atmosphere, truly wonderful selection of tapas, executed brilliantly by the kitchen team, and friendly and helpful waiting staff, an all round fabulous night, washed down with local ales and soft drinks.

We met up with family and decided to go wandering looking for a tea room/coffee shop, we came across Teasdale Cheesemakers Cafe. Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised by the warm friendly welcome. Breakfast buns, bacon baps, along with the tea and coffee was delightful. Lovely selection of cakes too. The views across the dales is spectacular. We bought several pieces of the homemade cheese to bring back to London, my favourite is the Durham Blue and the garlic cheese. A good selection of local delicacies and gifts in the quaint shop. Definitely worth a visit. We will return on our next visit to stock up on local cheeses and of course the Durham Butter.
