Agricultural Setting & Dark Skies

Our two lodges and vintage caravan are set in one of our fields over the hill and away from the cafe and farm house so there's very little light polluion allowing for some spectacular dark skies.

Our glamping huts are a shepherds hut with the curve of an agricultural building, so they have a higher ceiling and more floor space than a traditional shepherds hut.

Our French vintage caravan has additional outside space with a kitchen and your own toilet and shower.

All our glamping options come with a deep wood fired hot tub.

We can provide a set fof binoculars for use during your stay.  Just ask when you arrive.

Hut feature icon

We Are Off-grid!

Our glamping options are off-grid so amenities are limited but we do offer en-suite facilities, a phone charging point, heating, tea and coffee making facilities, a small fridge as well as a kitchen equipped for basic cooking. Eleanor, our French vintage caravan has a larger kitchen area.

No hairdryers or tongs please.  They won't work and may drain the solar battery.

Hut feature icon

Bed linen, Towels & Robes

Bed linen, towels and robes are provided. The pillows and duvets are supplied by Urban Wool. They are chemical-free, organic wool which are naturally hypoallergenic.  The perfect start for a relaxing stress free night.

Cooking Facilities

The glamping experience has a kitchen so cooking is available and you can order one of our breakfast packs.

Our breakfast sausage and bacon is from our own rare breed pigs reared here on the farm, along with eggs from our chickens and local bread. It you opt for a more continental cheese breakfast all the cheese is made here on site using milk from the family farm 6 miles away and is served with local bread, chutneys and butter.

We also supply a BBQ and you can order one of our BBQ packs, again with our pork in the burgers and sausages.  If you want to use the BBQ during your stay and have not bought one of our BBQ packs you will need to bring your own charcoal.

  • We welcome dogs in the lodges.  They must be booked in at time of booking.
  • We are a quiet couples only site and do not allow large parties or children.

Undisturbed Tranquility

The glamping site is only suitable for the agile as it is a rural setting and your hut has steps to the veranda.

What our customers say

Stayed the weekend in the glamping hut. Really comfy, well kept, amazing view of the valley from the porch. So peaceful and relaxing. Selection of cheeses was really tasty, with an interesting selection. Nanny blue in particular. Cheese toasties with thier own cheese and own bacon is a great breakfast. Allison and Jonathan were lovely hosts, so accommodating. If you're looking to get out of the city for a relaxing time in nature and love cheese this is the place.

We love coming here, whether it's breakfast, lunch or the special Friday evening menus. A hidden gem in the local community! A lovely couple of days spent recently in the new glamping pods, now with private hot tubs. What a beautiful place to while away the afternoon and watch the stars come out at night.

Niki, Google Review

One night stay but wish we could.have stayed longer! Absolutely wonderful place! We stayed in the Ash cabin which was immaculate! Beautiful log fired hottub, in the most tranquil setting you could imagine. A lovely walk through the farm led us to a secluded woodland area with a stream running through it, then a walk down to the farmhouse cafe where we dined on home made pizzas cooked their wood fired pizza oven! The owners are an amazing couple who are extremely welcoming, fun to chat with and have a real passion for what they do. Did I mention the cheese?? What can I say about the cheese they make....its amazing! I suggest people try and buy every one! We will be back!

Stayed here for 2 nights in glamping huts. Friday evening tapas at cafe was amazing, great food, local beers. Hut was secluded away from the farm, but great view, simple, comfortable, tranquil. Very dog friendly place - our dog Charlie was well fussed.. Cheese making course (Saturday) was fantastic, informative, so much that goes in to making their fantastic range of cheeses.. loved the Barney Brie, Teesdale goat, and of course the marvellous Doris. Breakfast at cafe was stunning, with rare breed pork bacon/sausages - amazing produce from people that are passionate about their food.

We had a lovely stay last night as a birthday treat. We would highly recommend a visit. Lovely views comfortable surroundings and the owners are very helpful. The cafe was great too.

Lynne, Facebook Recommendation
The coffee is roasted by a local company and is lovely. Cafe is dog friendly, the owners and staff very welcoming, and the food is delicious; the humble cheese toastie or sandwich is lifted by the wonderful cheeses made on site. There's a shop too. We attended pizza night and the pizzas were delicious. Well worth a visit! Puddings were rather nice too!

Spent a fantastic two night stay in one of the amazing lodges at teesdale cheesemakers.  Alison and Johnathan are perfect hosts and go above and beyond to ensure their guests have everything they need for a perfect stay.

We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Brilliant weekend, beautiful setting, amazing hosts.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left Alison and Johnathan were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Johnathan showed us to our lodge and everything worked including the wood fired hot tub which was amazing under the stars! The lodges are off grid and fit beautifully into their surroundings with perfect views of rolling countryside and you are surrounded by nature and all its sights and sounds adding to the tranquillity. The food and drink in the cafe (and to takeaway) is top quality. Alison’s cheese making tour was a great insight into what takes place to get cheese to your plate and revealed Alison’s passion for her cheese making skills.
Johnathan allowed us to see what goes on on the farming side as we helped him feed their pigs and he too gave us an insight into a typical day in his life and what got them to where they currently are with their business.
They truly are amazing hosts with a great passion for their business which enhances the quality of your stay.

Cheese and glamping experience
Two nights in Ash cabin. Fully met our expectations, Jonathan gave good advice on hot tub. Had a breakfast pack and a cheese/meat platter in the cabin, both excellent. Found out as we left they had just won two North East tourism Gold awards ,very well deserved for a smashing couple. Congratulations Alison & Jonathan.

We’ve just returned from a lovely two days of absolute rest and relaxation at Teesdale Cheesemakers.

The Holly was perfectly appointed, clean & cozy.

We loved listening to the curlews, owls & lapwings while enjoying the beautiful views.

Really enjoyed getting our breakfast at the cafe and made sure to bring some of their wonderful cheese & sausages home with us.

Wonderfully dog friendly too.
