Our two glamping lodges are tucked away over the hill offering: seclusion, peace and tranquility, stunning views and access for the agile to our two acre wood and stream. Both lodges have a wood fired hot tub.

Holly is set in stunning countryside and teaming with wildlife.  Take a gentle stroll across the fields or venture into the 2 acre wood to enjoy a picnic by the stream.

With the historic towns of Barnard Castle, Bishop Auckland and Durham within reach you can take a trip to take in beautiful architecture, do a little shopping or have a evening meal in one of the bistros or bars.

Staying closer to home in the evening?  Use your kitchen to cook your meals or head out to the firepit and BBQ area and eat al fresco surrounded by stunning sceanery.

After dinner sit out on the front decking with a good book and a glass of your favourite tipple or stoke up the Wood Fired Hot Tub and soak away the evening beneath the stars.

Finally slip under the organic hypoallergenic duvet and sink into the memory foam mattress for a good nights rest.

The colours are stunning in the autumn and winter night skies are breathtaking. 

Our glamping lodges are fully insulated and equipped with a hot air heater so it's super cosy.   And of course, there's the hot tub which creates a fantastic contrast to the cool air!  The colours are stunning in the autumn and the winter night skies are breath taking, making this an all-year round romantic getaway.

Holly is a charming, studio-style glamping lodge nestled in Copley near Butterknowle , County Durham.

With the North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and historic towns within reach, whisk your loved one away to Ash for a romantic escape in the countryside.

Off-road parking is available for guests in Teesdale Cheesemakers café car park and there is a parking bay beside each glamping lodge.

Resting on an elevated position, you'll be charmed by the beautifully finished wooden studio lodge looking out onto rolling hills and woodland.

Step inside and be welcomed by a lovely, open-plan living space; prepare a picnic in the kitchen area with a gas hob and cool box for easy meals, before heading out on one of the nearby walking trails to spot the local wildlife.

Sink into the armchairs after the day's adventures with a hot drink or a cold glass of wine to toast to your retreat, or fire up the wood fired hot tub and have a soak under the stars before climbing under the sheets for a well-earned rest.

A memory foam mattress and hypo-allergenic duvet and pillows help to ensure a good nights sleep. 

With no WiFi and no TV, Holly offers the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle; make the most of your peaceful surroundings at the front decking area with two seats to savour your morning coffee in the sunshine.

Guests reap the benefits of this fabulous location on Teesdale Cheesemakers with dairy tours, cheese tastings and, where possible, cheese making courses and bee keeping talks.

Butterknowle is home to two pubs for evening drinks, whilst Cockfield is a short journey away for shops, a pub and a takeaway.  The Cheesedale cafe on site is also licensed (please see opening times for details).

The site is between two busy market towns, journey to either Barnard Castle or Bishop Auckland, with bustling highstreets lined with independent shops and eateries, where guests can stroll from the centre into the magnificent grounds of Auckland Castle in Bishop with a picture-perfect deer park offering plenty of idyllic spots, or browse the antique shops of Barnard Castle or check out the castle ruins.  Barnard Castle also supports a fantastic Arts Centre.

Plenty of attractions await in the vibrant city of Durham, including the impressive cathedral and castle with fascinating guided tours on offer, riverside walks to appreciate the historic architecture and an abundance of restaurants and bars to finish off the day.

With Holly as your base, venture into the North Pennines with rare wildlife and rugged beauty, or journey south into the scenic Yorkshire Dales with plenty of traditional villages to explore.
